The GSCP Equivalence Process comprises two tools / steps:

For each request by a User to go through the Equivalence Assessment, an Equivalence Assessment Panel will be formed. Each Panel will regroup 3 independent professionals drawn from the Equivalence Process Register of Experts. This Panel will be charged with reviewing the Self-Assessment, grading and objective evidence submitted, and validating it for future use by the User.

The GSCP calls for expressions of interest from experts in social and/or environmental compliance - with particular interest for profiles with both social and environmental expertise - to be listed in the Register of Experts and be called upon as required to perform Equivalence Assessments. Participation in an Equivalence Assessment Panel is remunerated - listing in the Register of Experts is not. Two rounds of Expert recruitment have been completed to date. The third round closed on August 3, 2012. Further applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Please note that Experts' qualifications, experience and skills requirements may be slightly modified in the meantime, depending on expertise needs for the Register of Experts.
