Expert Working Groups (EWGs) PDF E-mail

The Expert Working Groups carry out the GSCP working plan, from step 1 to 5. This includes the drafting of the GSCP reference tools, the development of the Equivalence Process and the work on protocols and solutions for Data Sharing.

Expert Working Group members are operational experts drawn from GSCP member companies. They involve other stakeholders in their work (e.g. non-member company representatives, auditing / certification bodies, non-business stakeholders) through consultation processes undertaken before publication of any reference tool.

The role of each Expert Working Group, within its respective field of activity, is to compare and analyse existing practices in order to identify best existing practices for each step of the GSCP working plan (1 to 5). Expert Working Groups have been mandated to work on specific tasks such as the review of the Reference Code, the alignment of audit processes and methodologies, auditing competence, etc. The number of active working groups is defined according to task allocation. Expert Working Groups are expected to disband once their task is completed.
